Entrepreneurs understand that Search Engine Optimization for their website won’t give them the traffic and results in a day but an experimental (read as: patient) approach will.
While hiring experienced SEO companies to do this is a good idea, there are certain common SEO mistakes that you should watch out for that can hurt search engine rankings, and result in your company losing out on sales in process.
Mistake #1: Page Titles that don’t tell people what you do
If your page titles tell users what your company’s name is, you might not necessarily get as many hits as you possibly can if you are able to rename your page titles to describe what your company does in a nutshell. So, remember to use the
tag to explain what the page is about, while using key search terms too.</p>
<p>Mistake #2: Unaware of/ don’t use Google Analytics<br />
This is probably the biggest mistake that you can make since Google Analytics tells you whether the changes that you are making to your site works or not, in terms of statistics. One of which is knowing how many hits your website gets apart from others such bounce rate and so on and so forth.</p>
<p>Mistake #3: Using text in an image<br />
Search engines prefer text (read as: content) to images. It’s as simple as that. Even if you do insert relevant keywords in the image, it won’t matter. In fact, search engines don’t know the difference between an image of a monkey and yours. So it’s something that won’t matter in terms of SEO.</p>
